Under the Surface

A visual exploration of the strange psychological ecosystem of modern work—and the ways we adapt to survive inside it.

Beneath the polished language of ambition, adaptability, and belonging are often less visible forces: conformity, defensiveness, exhaustion, and the pressure to continually reshape ourselves to fit our environment.

Under the Surface uses fish and marine ecosystems as metaphors to explore the hidden realities behind familiar corporate buzzwords: growth mindset, sharp elbows, culture fit, Series B, and strategic initiatives.

In this ecosystem, what looks like a personality trait may actually be a survival response. What looks like growth may simply be forced adaptation. And what looks like a thriving culture may be shifting violently beneath the surface.

This series is a reflection on 15+ years spent navigating the corporate waters. It challenges the disconnect between corporate language and lived reality, capturing how individuals mutate, mask, and reshape themselves to survive.
