As an adult, it sounds like a silly question—
but standing on deck in the Pacific at golden hour,
watching them leap beside the hull
and carve heart shapes into the warm air...
suddenly, I wasn't an adult anymore.
I was a dreaming kid again,
sitting in front of the TV watching Flipper,
convinced that one day I would be just like Sandy.
So as we pulled into harbor,
leaving an emerald wake behind us,
the skies turned violet
and I caught myself wondering...
maybe some daydreams aren't meant to be outgrown.
